Does anyone know how much reservoir capacity it takes to operate a 220 backhoe? Thanks scott!

You need at least the volume of all the rods of the cylinders plus how ever many reserve gallons you want. Once all the cylinders are filled with oil, this rod volume is the vacant space in your tank to prevent it spitting oil out. Fill your tank with the cylinder rods retracted and that should prevent overfilling the tank.

The 220 backhoe gets the oil supply from the front
loader. The loader reservoir is in the side main
frame on the upright portion. Depending on the
loader model there is either a plug halfway up the
leg or a dipstick/plug by the main boom pivot-
close to the main pivot pin. The main thing is
that there is enough to fully extend the loader
and backhoe-if so it is enough. Chuck

Actually I'm mounting the hoe on a different tractor and want to use a seperate reservoir so I was wondering how large a reservoir i would need to supply just the backhoe. Thanks Scott!
