what would cause diesel to drip from near the injector pump, is seems to be driping from the bottom of the pump down onto the oil filter. Is there anything that can be adjusted or tightened to stop this. It seems to be getting worse. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The plastic line and banjo have been replaced with a steel line and fittings. New Holland in Ocala, Florida is where I bought the parts. A fire took care of wires and plastic lines. I was trying to bleed the system. The battery cable came loose and ignited the fuel on the side of the engine and ground. I did not know about the bleed BOLT hidden on top of the filter which is bolted very close under the air intake of the engine. Unless you know its there..... This is a 3 cylinder 1965 Ford Diesel.

It is leaking at the line going into the banjo fitting. No other areas are wet. You can actually see some fuel coming from the line at the fitting. How do you fix this.

There are two copper washers above and below the banjo fitting. You could try a little more tighten on the banjo bolt. If that don't work, replace the washers. If you need a quick fix anneal the washers and reuse.

is that line under pressure, if you take the washers out to repair? Will you have to bleed out the diesel lines afterward?
thanks

Will starting cleaning and looking for the leak. I believe it is a CAV pump. Is it ok to use it even with a small leak.

Is your pump a CAV? If it is a CAV, I have been there done that. First you will need to get 2 or 3 cans of engine cleaner. Clean, clean, and clean again the whole area. After each spraying, hose off, let dry and do it again. Now using a white paper towel, start looking for your leak; it will show up real easy on the dry, clean paper towel. See if there are small leaks around the cutoff shaft and the throttle control shaft on top of the CAV pump. If so post back in new thread and I will give exact instructions on the repair.

A loose line, fuel line seals, a cracked line, the compression washer seals for the banjo fitting, the top gasket or they can leak between the pump head and injection pump body. Everything you can repair except if it is leaking between the head and the body that would need to go to an injection pump repair shop. It can be hard to find exactly where they are leaking from sometimes.
