The tractor is a MF 35 and the PTO will not turn which in turn causes the Hyd pump not to turn. I removed the side covers and the contol was connected and moves the gear but the shaft will not turn. With the side covers removed and the tractor running I do not see anything moving. Any ideas. Also the tractor will run and drive with all the gears working in the trans.

Does this tractor have a 2-stage clutch? If so, you probably have a problem with the secondary clutch.

The three point pump and the pto are both turned by the pto clutch disc in the two stage clutch pressure plate assembly. It is slipping causing them not to work. It may have the lining worn out or the hub broke out of the disc. The tractor will have to be split between the engine and the transmission to make the repairs. If I can be of further help email me.
