Got a problem: Changed out both fuel filters on my 1966 MF150 diesel today. Followed the owners manual to a "T". Install filters, bleed air from tops of filters, from pump bottom bleed screw, then pump top bleed screw. Then crack injector bolt, while cranking motor. (Pumped manual lever between each step.) Air is just pouring out of my injectors. Lots of bubbles at each one. Went back and did everything over, three times. Each time, bubbles at the injector tops, no where else. Pumped the dang lever until my thumb bled, no luck. Any suggestions? This is my first time for this chore, (though I've changed the filter in my Cummins a few times.) Thanks in advance!

Jim

Verify that you have air free fuel at the vents one more time, then crack # 1 injector line, only and crank in 15 second intervals until you get fuel. Usually when I bleed the system, I crack the vent, then pump the transfer pump until I see fuel come out with each stroke. Then I move on until it's time to do the injector. Sometimes it takes more time than I think it should, but then it always takes. Good luck.

Big Dean to the rescue!!! Thanks for all the help. Turns out I had cracked the wrong nut!! Knucklehead!! It's the line going in the the side of the injector. When I did it right, it fired right up!! Live and learn! Thanks!
