We have a MF-202, 1963 model, single stage clutch, standard 3 spd. transmission with hi-lo. Splitting it to repair/replace front trans seal as it was leaking profussly thru weep hole in bell housing. We have everything loose, supported engine, and then transmission/final drive assembly. It has seperated approx 1/2"-5/8", is off the side alingment pegs, but still on the top two threaded pins, but will move NO more than that. Checked the clutch pedal and it still moves the amount you would think it should(lash) before it starts to move the throwout bearing, so I don't think it is binding on it. Just bought the tractor and have the shop manuals ordered, but wanted to get a head start to fix it and put it to work. ANY ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If you are sure you have all the bolts completely out then it is probably the pilot bearing is stuck onto the transmission input shaft. I have run into that few times. That is about how far they will move a part when that happens. On a couple the bearing was stuck tight enough I had to unbolt the pressure plate and remove the bearing after I got it split.

Thanks Big Dean. We will try agian, and if it won't move, than we will un-bolt the plate.
