I'm working on a 265 Chrysler flat head. Sometime well into the past it was bored out to .080 over. It is well worn. I would like to bore it more to clean it up. I am going to have to go to at least .090 to do this. I was curious as to how far I can safely go. Also, I can only find new pistons to .060 over. Does anyone know of a set of pistons that would work in it if I had it bored for them to fit? Any help would be great.

Harold is right on the money. Even in the unlikely event you are able to find some +.090 or +.100 pistons, the cylinder walls will be so thin you'll likely have a major problem. Sleeve it back to standard - it's a fine engine with plenty of power. I used to race one - in a '34 Ford coupe!

I think you will have to get the block dry sleeved and bring it back to standard. I have never seen one bored over .060, I have seen them sleeved though. My two cents. ---Harold

Or:... Check around for a deal super 92 or super 27 combine that may have a good one.
