I think the engine would bolt up but is it a big job or/and can it be done?

I am not familiar with a MF50, but I converted a MF35 from gas to diesel - I suspect it is similar. It was not complicated, but I spent a while getting the peripherals together. Along with the engine, starter and clutch I also had to get the correct fuel tank, fuel filters, made up the fuel lines, throttle linkage, battery cradle (if I remember the battery cradle and throttle linkage can be obtained as a unit at a scrapyard) changed orientaion of radiator outlet, tachometer, oil pressure guage. One spends a bit of time going back to the stores to get the correct sizes of bolts, pipe fittings etc. The tractor has been going very well ever since, so I think it was worth it.
