Need to know how to install distrubuter after changing the drive gear.

S.R.Turn the engine so the fly wheel marks are on top dead centre makeing sure that #1 piston is on the compresion stroke and not the intake stroke. This is done by removing #1 spark plug and turning the engine with your thumb over the plug hole untill you feel compresion blowing by, then slowly turn till flywheel marks are on T.D.S , now drop the distributer in with the rotor pointing to the # 1 wire in the cap.Turn on the ignition, then turn the dist a to little to the left or right and you should get a spark from the wire . tighten down the dist at the spark and she should go. Hope I made myself clear.---Harold
