I have seen several posts about 413 flathead Chryslers. I am toying with idea of putting one in my Massey. Does anyone have any info/specs on these engines?

I saw a post of someone that had one for sale back in Sept, and to email them, but there was no email address?!?!?!!

Thanks.

They were straight sixes used in semi-tractors and four ton dump trucks. Our club had one donated to it, but they considered it worthless and scrapped it. I didn't ask for the engine quick enough. The IHC Red Diamonds went up to 500 cu in, but were OHV straight sixes. More of those around. Occasionally old County government dump trucks still get sent to the wrecking yards with these engines. Some of the old snow-plow trucks had big engines, too. Perhaps in an old Oshkosh or FWD. Also check old dragline cranes. Some have 426 inch Waukesha sixes. And small-town fire departments are always junking out old fire trucks with big six engines.

Though Chrysler did make a 413 V8 wedge in the early 1960s as well as several sizes of six cylinder flathead industrial engines, I have never heard of a 413 flathead. Might this have been a Dodge truck engine?

Yes, this was a Dodge truck engine built in the 50"s. This particular size engine is the largest of its series consiting of: 306, 331, 337, and the 413.

I have read that this engine came from the factory with dual intake and exhaust manifolds. I would love to find such a setup, but I would suffice with any of the engines due to their massive cubic inch capacity and potenital.
