MF 1080 exhaust manifold

I have a MF 1080 tractor with the 318 D motor. It has a bad exhuast manifold and they are no longer available from Massey or Perkins! I did some research and found that Massey used that 318 motor up until 1986. They used it in the 1085,285,698 and the 298 tractors. I was wondering if anybody knows if the manifold will interchange from one of the newer models to the 1080? I hate to get rid of an otherwise good old workhorse for just a bad manifold!!ANY help greatly appreciated! Thanks

I purchased a used one 2 years ago from Rebels used parts in Hazlehurst, Ga. I know they got a used 1085 in 2 months ago.

I had the same problem with my 1080 and ended up building a new one out of pipe. Yes it does sound a bit backwoods but needed the tractor and couldn"t find a used one in both the US and Canada salvage yards. About a month after getting the tractor up and running I was offered one for $580 US. We recently had the motor rebuilt and was going to have it planed but the mechanic said it was sealing just fine. if you want a picture e-mail me.

A good massey dealer should have access to an aftermarket one. I can't remember if all had the same manifold. I'm guessing the 1080, 1085, and 285 are the same.
