Does anyone know a supplier for the oil seal and gaskets for the Barnes PS pump on my 65? Randy

M/F 65 diesels prior to s/n 685996, with remote oil reservoir used two different brands of pumps, Barnes as well as Borourn-Eaton. The Barnes has a port plate bolted to the top of it where the reservoir would normally sit. The Borourn-Eaton does not. The pumps otherwise look similar and use the same adapter plate, (the gas tractors with Barnes did not use an adpater plate). The two differnet Barnes pumps on the diesels look identical, the later one has wider pump gears for more volume, and are interchangeable. Seal 1751651M1 should be the correct seal for all of the Barnes pumps, including the one on the gas models. The Borourn-Eaton usesd a different seal (850980M1)obsolete. I have this seal if this would be the pump you might have. In either case the seal fits behind the actual pump bearing, not the adapter bearing. This allows the bearings to be lubricated with engine oil.

Your 65 falls in the s/n range"Diesel, used prior
to tractor s/n 685996" You are correct-that range
does not have a reservoir attached to the pump.
The seal size should be 7/16 X 1 X 3/8. The p/n
shows that which you have is the correct one. It
goes deep into the casting to make room for the
bearing which goes in after the seal. Chuck

I can give you the p/ns of these parts and I
believe Agco/Mf should still have them. I do
need more info on tractor. Gas/diesel and s/n.
I do have one other source to be tried if Co.
doesn't have. Barnes is one MFG out of many to
build pumps for the 65 series but they have two
styles. Chuck

Diesel and 679k serial# thereabouts. I was able to order the gasket that goes in the pump body from the MF dealer, but he also sold me an oil seal that doesn't seem to fit anywhere. The Barnes pump in my Service Manual has such a seal, but I didn't find one when I dissassembled it. The service manual makes more sense now that you say there were two models of the Barnes. The exploded diagram in the manual looks slightly different than my pump, but the picture of the installed pump is my model. The exploded view looks like the reservoir sits right on top of the pump, where mine is mounted by the radiator. Part # of the seal I bought-1751651M1

I can't wait for my parts book to arrive!

Barnes is still in the hydraulic pump business. Like a lot of other companies they have been purchased by someone else. HAve you tried to contact them?
