I bought a MF-202 today. Tested it, ran out great. Has MF-200 front end loader. It had been setting for over a year. After using for about an hour, it started POURING fluid out of the hole under the starter on the left side. Emptied the tranny in minutes. Is there a seal that could have let loose? Does the tractor have to be split to fix? ANY help would be greatly appreciated. I have not had a chance to buy a manual for it yet(just bought it today).

I am assuming it has the reverse-o-matic transmission. If it does you probably have the torque converter seal bad that is the most common thing that makes those leak. The tractor will have to be split to make repairs to it If I can be of further help email me

Reverse-o-matic? It has a three speed transmission with Hi-Low. How do I determind if it has the transmission you are refering to? Thanks. I am really upset about it, as there was nothing wrong, apparently, with it, when I bought it.

The Reverse-O-Matic transmission does not have a clutch pedal it has two pedals on the right side of the transmission for forward and reverse.

Hi Big Dean. I must be an idiot, because I just don't know. It has a single pedal on the left side, clutch?, and two pedals on the right, that I thought were the brake pedals, but it had no working brakes. I would take a picture of "Barney"(the lady I bought it from, and her grand children, painted it purple and green)UG!, but it is stored about 20 miles from me. I really need to check it out before i say much more. I bought the tractor really right, but...

If it has a clutch pedal on the left side then it is not a Reserse-O-Matic. Your leak is probably caused by the transmission Input shaft seal on that transmission.

Hey Big Dean. That is what I thought. Either way the tractor needs to be split. It's before I thought I would have to do it, but oh well it is no good to me the way it is. However, at $1500 selling price with the MF-200 front end loader and a 3 pt. box blade, I can't get hurt. Thanks A LOT for the info. texasoldiron
