I've just purchased a 1967 '165' for restoration and I'm having some difficulty in locating the '165' badges for the bonnet. Is anyone out there aware of a supplier for these badges and any other decals?.
Another query, at present I have no brakes!, the linkages work to the point where they disappear into the axle casing, though I'm waiting for delivery of the workshop manual to shed a little more light on this problem, anyone come across this one before?

about the brakes, there is a hole in the bottom of the axle where leaking oil can poor out , sometimes this is stucked and oil will be on the brake disk , dismantle the axle's and check oil seals ,disc friction material can be renewed at low costs ,165 badges i have the in stock(plenty)

For the badges, try Vapormatic. They are a UK outfit, and have LOTS of MF parts!

As you can guess, I've got one too (66). Only one of my brakes works (portside). Adjustment on the linkage doesn't have any effect on the problem.

The brakes are inboard (obviously eh?) and look to be lots of fun to get at.

I'll be doing mine this Winter (other projects pending). The manuals are absloutely necessary for digging in there.

You must be in G.B. to call the Hood a Bonnet ?

I don't know where to get the badges.. perhaps someone else will chip in with an answer.

best of luck...

The disk brakes can be a pain. They glaze over, and seem to work like an accelerator rather than brakes!

We've had some success with sandpaper on both the fibre disks and the corresponding metal surfaces. New disks (not that expensive) and deglazing the metal works better.

Vapormatic has distributors in Canada (Vapormatic Canada near Toronto) and the US - Riverside Tractor Parts (RTP)in Memphis. Both are wholesale, but many dealers carry or access their parts.
