Sediment bowl starvation?

I have a M-H 22 that seems to be starving for fuel at three-fourths and up throttle. I changed to a known good carb & results are still the same. The original sediment bowl is still on this tractor. Can it be starving the gas flow? I've cleaned it out & checked the screen. Is there anything wrong with doing away with bowl assembly, inserting special stem fitting into tank and piping up with larger line with gas filter? Anyone out there have this problem?

Disconnect the fuel line at the carb, and with a good rubber tipped blow gun blow back through the line. If there is any crud blocking it stuck in the screens, it'll loosen up and go back into the tank. One word of caution, loosen the cap so the air can escape, otherwise the gas will blow out between the bowl and the housing on the bottom of the tank. If you take the cap completely off, cover the top with a rag so it doesn't spray all over, espescially if it's full.

Joe,Im willing to bet its the fuel bowl. They just act up after a while. You can try a new one or if you want there is nothing wrong with putting in a strait line with a in line fuel filter. Another thing you may want to check is your gas cap. Sometimes they don't breath right and cause a vacume and don't allow good flow. Hope this helps. What part of Pa. are you from? Im from Greensburg (about 45 miles east of Pittsburgh)

Sometimes these sediment bowl/fuel valve assembliy has a screen on the fuel tank side of the assembly. It can be clogged and reduce fuel delivery. You have to drain the fuel and remove the assembly to checkit out. Does your carburetor have a fuel connection elbow at the carburetor with a screen in it (the so called "secret filter")? If it does, have you checked that? Also make sure that you have opened the fuel valve to the proper position.
