I have a 1949 Massey Harris 44 and it has the hydralics that was offered on it. And My question is is where does the hydralic cylinder suppose to be mounted to. And is it possible to mount a hitch all up to the tractor if it has the clativator lift. And if so any information on finding a hitch all or information on it would be greatly appreciated.

Hank, What this photo shows is the cast mount bracket and cylinder from a vintage 1954 Special. Piston 1 1/4", follow arm appears broken. There is nothing shown, that is a 3 point hitch piece,
this is the mounted cylinder(depth-o-matic-updated)from a 44 Special. The Hitch-All assembly
is the MH 3 point hitch hardware, w/a liftshaft
above the PTO housing. Your items were a perfect
match w/Hitch-All, but don't appear. So, you are
selling a mounted cylinder, cast bracket, from a
44 Special. A recent ad 'wanted' a cylinder like
yours, one of these 3(?) sites. I may surf a bit,
see if it surfaces. Questions, post back...

One must assume that you have a late 1949 44RC,
to have central hydraulics. Most came with a
mounted hydraulic cylinder, beneath the pan seat.
The control valve body was attached to the left side of the cylinder barrel. Three pieces of flat
stock steel were welded into triangle-like shape,
bolted to the right top edge of the transmission case. This 'Depth-o-Matic' MH hydraulic system is
not as durable as Hitch-All, however those cultivator lifts are 'parade items', not worth the
time to bolt up, purchase, or keep repairing.A 33,
44, 44 Special, make scrap metal out of these bad
attempts at a 3 point hitch.Currently, there are a
few diagrams of Hitch-All, on e Bay, completed bid
items, category:Massey 33. A hitch-all manual 1954
was sold this morning. You can see some pages of
the manual, in the posted auction item. Your 44
may have had a broken valve, or pitted piston, so missing, for hyd exclusive use, on pull
behind implements, which required a hyd cylinder,
hoses, replacement valve, pump, to function.
