I have been looking for a 40 plus HP tractor to pull my cutter. I have a MF 65 diesel row crop wide front but needed a second tractor. I like the 65 but don't see many for sale around here. One came available yesterday which is a MF 65 Delux diesel with multipower with new tires all around and new battery. It cranks and runs good and everything seems to work properly but I did not try the multipower. It does not smoke at idle but will puff for an instant when the throttle is opened. The guy wanted $2000. Of course I tried for less but ended up paying the 2 grand. It does not have power steering however. Sure was glad to make the deal and it is about 15 miles from the house. Price seemed good to me but was wandering what the going price is for these.

I got one here (CA) for $900, but the lift doesn't work and needs some power steering work. $2,000 sounds like a good deal for a fully functioning 65 from what I've seen.

Your deal sounds pretty good also. Yours has power steering which is a plus even if it needed work. This one has straight tin but is very faded. The other MF 65 I have owned for about three or four years and still cranks and runs good. Even if it tore up this season I would have gotten my moneys worth out of it. I paid $2500 for it and it was in worse condition.

Got pretty lucky. They had it listed for 1500 in the paper, but the son listed it for 1000 on Craigs list which is where I saw it. With the rough tin and no lift, there was not way I was going over 1000. Pretty much anything this size here in CA working seems to run around 3 thousand, and if I'm careful I think I can get pretty close to restoring this completely for another 2000. Kazenza

I paid 700 for a total rebuilder. I have over $1500 in it now and it's just now starting to go together. You paid $2000? I'd stay hidden before he comes back for the other half.
