I have a used Massey Ferguson construction grade tractor that may have broken a linkage for the reverse gear. All I have to go on is a serial number (9A-236392) and the decal "Massey Ferguson 40" on the bucket arm. Can any out there suggest something constructive? Thanks

It appears to be a mid 70's model 40. It should
have a 3 cyl perkins 152 UA Perkins diesel or 3
cyl. perkins gas. Sold with either a manual shuttle trans.(with hand lever) or an instant
reverse with a right hand foot peddle operating
a torque converter. This would have 2 shift levers
but no conventional clutch pedal. Could be equiped
with two or more models of loaders. A 32 (or a more H.D. 34) The 34 has 4 pt scissors bars in
front to tilt the bucket.
