I own a Ferguson TEA-2085 that was made in 1950. The serial number of the Standard engine is SC68038E. I would like to know the tractor serial number...is it possible? In some cases, i must know this serial number before ordering parts. Thanks

TEA 2085 or a 2085 is an often used slang to indicate a Ferguson gas tractor with the larger 85mm engine. The serial number you are looking for is stamped onto the plate situated on the dash immediately above the steering wheel. If the number is illegible try removing the plate to see if you can read the numbers in reverse

Hi Yves,

How do you know it is a TEA-2085 ? If you have found this number on the small plate above the steering wheel you have no TEA 2085, but a TEA-20 with serial number TEA 2085, which means it is tractor number 2085 you have. In that case it is a 1947 model, and some of the first TEA 20 there is.

You see, all serial numbers start with the type of tractor it is, like TEA, TED, TEF or whatever it may be.

Well, now it seems that tractor number 2085 is little early for a TEA 20. Try to look at the plate to see if you can find more numbers on it.

I own a TEA20 serial no 56050 and it is February 1948, so ther is something missing from your serial number.
