I got this 1963 Massey Ferguson Gas, last year on a good deal, missing a a generator, and put in a one-wire deal, and so far it's been a good tractor, good oil pressure, good power, etc... Well this weekend I helped a buddy clean up about an acre of land. After we finished, I loaded it on the trailer, and stopped at the local car wash to de-grease it so I can start painting it up. Well when I finally got home I started it to unload it, and it was missing, but I thought the wires probably got wet. So I parked it, and the next morning I saw that it was leaking gas throught the carb. So I removed the carb, and disassemled it and soaked it in Chem Dip, and put it back together, and it wanted to fire, but it was shooting major fuel through the carb inlet. I'm thinking it might be the timing gear. Any ideas??? Thanks, sorry for such a long post....

Just wanted to update, that it was just flooding I guess. I messed with the wires, and two of them were messed up where the terminal hooked up to the spark plug, I don't know how it was running in the first place. I straightened up those terminals and repluged them onto the plugs, and it ran great. I'm going to go ahead with a tune up kit, and replace all that old stuff as the wires and distributor appear to have seen their better days. Thanks....

Carburetor needs a carb float valve(needle and
seat) MF p/n 15479 A. Gasket is p/n 15462 A.
Check float just to make sure not full of fuel.
If it is an"MF 50" the carb should be a Marvel
Schebler and easy to get parts for.

I highly suspect that your carb float is either jammed or set wrong.

Try looking inside the distruter cap for mosture. old caps will sometimes get wet inside when you wash them. Also check the rotor I have had the rotor to short through to the shaft. When they are wet they sometimes will fire too early and cough back through the carb.
