hi, i'm new. i have a 35 Deluxe gasser. my great uncle bought new. hood sticker says 35 deluxe. on the cover of the owner's manual is written March 1961. it has a 2 stage clutch but no power steering. no fuel guage either but it has the tractormeter, oil, temp, and amp guages. i have the fancy seat but am missing the bottom cushion. i guess i'll have to have one made.

just checking in.

Rob

Hi Rob,
You can get the seat cushions from this site, check under Tractor Parts on the left of this page. Your MF dealer also have them.
Regards, JJ.

I have just recently bought a 1962 MF35 deluxe (it was sold to me as a 35X but after some research I've come to the conclusion it's a deluxe, due to its serial number).

I believe the deluxe versions have dual clutch, diff lock and the padded seat, which seem to have been optional extras on the 35. It has an A3-152 Perkins Diesel and I think its fab (I am female too and it's my first tractor!).

I've no idea what the special is.

Archives will verify this. Had a deluxe and currntly have a '64 special.

Delux was gas, Continental 4 cyl. Don't know about Diesel for the Deluxe.

Deluxe uses a fancy padded seat with back, has power steering and I think there may be a gauge or 2 more. Mine also had dual remotes. Don't know if that is standard on Deluxe, but the knobs were always in the way mounting and dismounting.

If diesel, I'd buy the '64 up as you get the 3 cyl Perkins diesel. The Standard (brand) 4 cyl diesel in the earlier models is said to have problems especially with cold starting.

I don't have PS on mine and it steers fine with 5.50x16 front tractor 3 rib tires. Unless she is athetically inclined, you will probably want the Deluxe to get the PS. The PS I had on my earlier Deluxe worked just fine.....course it only had 900 hours in 2001.

I love my Perkie.

The deluxe also included a tractormeter. And the Perkins diesel is real easy on fuel. C. T.

What's a tractormeter? Do you mean a tachometer? Mine has that and you don't have to educate me on the fuel efficiency of the Perkie. I'm already sold. Grin

Mark, Tractometer is the term for a combination tach/hour meter and was standard equipment on the deluxe. C. T.

1. Site is moving faster than last night, but still mighty slow. Just got high speed internet which is mucho better than dialup but still it is taking forever.....sometimes. Sometimes it logs right back.

2. So on my tractometer I have no idea. This tractor was a one owner, in super shape....still OEM with 3600 hrs, and I bought it 2 years ago. No question that it was not Deluxe (having had one) but it does have the meter. Who knows.
