Hello. the other day it was nice out so I thought I would fire up the old Pony to let her run a while. Started up fine and ran for a few minutes and shut off. Had gas in tank. I cranked it over and it started up and shut off after a few secounds. The more I try to start it the worse it gets. I got good fuel flow to the carb. I tryed pulling out the choke to try and keep it going but didn't help. I pulled the tube off and try to run it. Still did the same. I did however need a new Battery and I put a 8 volt in it. This wouldn't effect say the 6 volt coil would it? Im almost leaning tords a coil problem cause if I let it sit over night and fire it up it will run the longest after a good rest. Any thoughts?

If you let it sit and it runs the best then. "I" would suspect you aren't getting fuel into the bowl. You may have good flow to the carb but, it might not be getting in for whatever reason. When it sits it has time for the bowl to fill slowly. Last winter my needle got stuck. I'd put money on this being your problem. Just drop the bowl and give the float a little tug down.
