Hello Everyone, A friend of mine (not online) has a MF 135 diesel & it's transmission shifter jumped the shift rails as I've heard they are prone to do with wear. He tried to re-align it through the fill hole, but no good, so he was going to remove the shifter from the housing & fix it from there. Problem is, the threads completely stripped out on the aluminum housing. He is at a loss as to what to do now. Has anyone experienced this? If the housing must be replaced, can anyone provide some good leads?

Much Thanks,
Tim Justice

If you can tell what gear it is in that helps when you try to align them. Don't forget that the pattern is reversed (left & up is right & down). If you can't get it through the fill hole the way to get the best idea of what is going on in there is take the bolts out that hold the top of the transmition down. Pry it open and look at the three rails. I don't know how to fix the problem but I am a pro at getting it back out of gear ;) Gary

The housing can have helicoils installed. I recommend taking to a machine shop, and they can properly do the installation.
