I have the french 25[ 4-107] just about a exact twin of your unit. A couple of things to look at: Is there any air coming out at the bleed points on the fuel pump, should be a steady stream, bubble free.Might have a soft rubber seal ring at one of the fittings/ or filter seal is leaking[ changed filter lately?]
Once running its ok? might look into injector cleaning/resetting if it hasen't been done recently, a bad fuel spray will be hard to start and the "canned assist" may cause more trouble.
What about the fuel pre-heat element in the intake manifold,is it working? its a good item to have working instead of the "canned assist", works good on mine.
Little things to check, before getting into the actual injector pump itself.
good luck

Hi PHIL25 and all watching
Thanks for ur reply to [hi can any one help my mf 130 with a perkins a4 107 ]
can u give me more info on injector cleaning/resetting, and can i crank engine with injector outboard so i can see if any fuel is being delivered? I take your point about engines getting addicted to the can, the heater is a1, and i have no air in system..
Ta Markey
