It is in perfect condition and as always been in the familly. The front grill is in (fonte) sorry i'm french. We live in a farming community and parade with the tractor often and even the old timer never saw one like that. The mithe as it that massey made about 5 of that model and from past searche we know that 3 are destroyed. Hello Francine, if it is a 6 cylinder, then it is a Senior model. That would be a 6-cylinder Flathead engine. Ask somebody to check for you if the distributor comes out the top (through the cylinder head) or out the side. If it is a Senior, then it should be coming out the top through the cylinder head. Since you are French, would that mean you live in Quebec? If it's in nice shape, it probably has the 102 decals on the hood. Any tin plate with a serial number on the left side of the cast iron chassis?

Hello Alberta Mike. My ex checked it out and the distributor comes out through the cylinder head. on top. We found the serial number and it is 365369. I have tried to find it in some listing but it is nowhere to be found?
Please help! Looking forward to your reply.
thanks

Hello Again, it would be an early 102 Senior (standard front axle) model. It would be a 1942 model, they started the 102 Seniors in 1941 at 365001 and only built 201 of them that first year. The 1942's went from 365202-366061. Production stopped in 1945 after MH built 7422 of them. Now it appears as though yours should be a low-grade fuel model and their should be a different manifold than on the 101's which were gas. Does the manifold have a tin heat shield on the outside to keep the temperature higher in the manifold? This helps to vaporize the low grade fuel. Does it have two gas tanks, a smaller one for gas when starting the tractor, and then a switchover valve to run it on distillate fuel?

Hi again, I must say that i find it wonderfull that you keep up the good work to help me, it's just that i am not use to people helping other people (if you know what i meen) ok now for the info: the manifold does have a tin heat shiel to keep the temperature higher and it does has two gas tanks exactly as you describe, by distillate fuel what do you meen. my ex tells me it runed on diesel ( carosene)

P.S how come i cannot find the exacte match for my serial number? And i was londe a very expensive Massey harris history book 150'00$ and the hood, the side panel is not the same as ours. Ours as outward dente. designe where you can see the motor through the opening. Sorry but i am describing this to the best of my english ability. looking forward to your replay! see ya!

I got your email photo and it was good. Well, it is definitely an early 102 Senior (with a flashy silver grille and a nice hood ornament that somebody put on there). In your book, I suspect you are looking at a Super 101 which had side panels which fully enclosed the engine area. Those panels had a lot of louvres punched into them and there were two panels per side, one covering the engine and a second smaller one behind which covered the battery, etc. under the fuel tank. Yours has just the one side panel and it is more open than on the Super model. Later (after about 1943 or so), the Seniors went to two side panels per side too, however they did not fully cover the engine area like the Super 101's. You seldom find those tractors like yours with the side panels there, somebody has usually taken them off and thrown them away. The "distillate" fuel wasn't really diesel, but it was something like kerosene which was cheaper at that time but needed a higher engine temperature to be used efficiently. Your tractor will run fine on regular gasoline, some people remove the heat shield on the manifold but you don't have to. I'm not sure why your book didn't list out your serial number. It must be quite a book for $150. After about 1943 or so, all Seniors exported out of the US were badged as being 102's whether they were gasoline or distillate models.
