Do you live in Canada or near the border? Or, might this be a "sold in Canada" MH tractor?

Originally, the 101's were gasoline and the 102's were low grade fuel (distillate) models when the Seniors arrived on the scene. After about '43 or so, all exported tractors (gas and distillate) were designated as 102's and that would include those shipped to Canada. The serial numbers didin't distinguish which were which so in fact the 102's shipped to Canada after this time showed up in the serial number lists as 101's if they were gas powered. You have a 102 Senior (Canadian gas version) which is in reality an American 101 (gas) by it's serial number. Same thing happened with the Junior series.

They are one in the same. It is correct with the 102 marking on it becasue it was an export tractor. However, if it would have been made to stay in the U.S. then it would have been marked 101. The gas 101 and 102 are the SAME thing. It's just that the 102 gas was an export.
