MF65 Air intake details

My MF65 air filter has an external large-particle trap - a clear perspex unit abt 8" diam, protruding above the bonnet abt 12" or so. Looking thru the photo archive on this site, it looks like this trap is a uniquely Australian feature. I want to remove it to reduce snags when logging in dense forest. Can you other MF65 owners tell me what are the standard internal details of the air inlet inside MF65s without this feature? My I&T manual gives no details. I assume something neat goes on inside the cavity in front of the radiator...?

Many thanks
David Bloodwood

Hi, oh, good you reminded me to charge my camera, and I will take some pics for you on my MF 65. It does not have the pipe up through the bonnet, but have the intake in the little chrome grille on the upper front.

When you get the pictures you will see what I mean.
But, you will not get the pictures until sunday evening or monday. Probably it will be monday for you.

Bill

There was one on ebay. Auction is over now. It was for a model 50 but I think it would work on a 65. (Hope I did the link right, my first attempt)
