Trying to find out the difference between a 101jr and a 102jr. Both were built in standard and row crop. Both used same engines. Both were built the same years. Anyone know the difference??

Both came out in about '39 I think and both made in Racine, Wisconsin. Originally, the 101 was gas and the 102 was distillate (low grade fuel) so there were carburetor and manifold, etc differences between the two models. Both early models had a single side panel with a simple curvature and the air cleaner was in front of the radiator. In about '43 or so, some changes were made to the sheet metal with two side panels per side with a more stylized curvature (higher arched). The air cleaner was moved back to the left rear of the engine. From this point onwards, all "exported" Juniors were designated as 102's (whether they were gas or distillate). I'm not even sure if any of those exports were distillate but they were all 102's. In the states, they retained their 101/102 labelling. Up here in Canada, you find the older styled gas 101's (I've got one of those) and then almost all of the later versions were gas 102's. Up here the later 102 gas versions are relatively common.
