Ok what kind of loader do you have? Sounds like oil is going right through the loader and causing system to drop to stand by Pressure. Or are you using another valve to run the loader off of the remotes, if its an open center valve you'll also have this problem. If not then your filter is plugged or metal has got into the distributor valve(inside main pump) causing reduced flow on the system.

Barnrat, I have similar problems with my loader on my 1105, but it does not do it all of the time. I am going to look in that I.T. shop manual and take your advice. Seems like it reacts differently when the multi-power is engaged.

If you have any questions let me know. I've been working on these 1000 series Masseys alot recently. So I've had to give myself a crash course in trouble shooting some of their common problems.

The loader is a Westerndorf TA28
I ran the hoses to the rear remoutes and iam using the controls in cab on consol that can with tractor I ran the same loader on a Massey 1105 and transfered to the 1135 The 1135 tractor power streeing is good but loader only moves good when moving steering wheel in cab loader will really move good when at end of steering stroke and holding pressure on steering wheel and will lift good loads of silage in bucker
Thanks
Dennis

From what your telling me I would say system pressure is good as the loader does lift and function. The fact that the loader works better when you dead head the steering wheel puts you back at the priority valve as your problem. You can dissassmeble this and clean it, an I & T or service manual will show you how. If that dosn't work then I'd say you have a problem with your steering pumps valve getting sloppy and letting too much fluid bypass. If this was happening your steering would still appear to work normal. You can test the steering by turning the steering wheel all the way to it's stop, then apply about 5 lbs of force on the wheel. If you can turn the steering wheel more then 2 revolutions in a minute then your steering valve is worn out.
