I am pretty new to tractors although I grew up around them I preferred working cattle to driving tractors. I picked up a 1977 30b friday and noticed it is weeping what looks like engine oil out of the hole one the bottom of what I guess is the bell housing. It is about 8 inches or so behind where I would think the rear main would be. It appears to be engine oil based on the dark black color. I had it out of my fathers shed cleaning it up and after pulling it back in and letting it idle for about a minute or two I noticed several drops on the floor. What should be done about this or how bad does it need to be before doing something about it? I am sure I will be asking plenty of questions. I changed the oil yesterday and blew out the air filter. It has a MF 34A loader that needs a couple of new grease certs and I think I will be trying to replace several of the pins if I can find a place to get them relatively affordable.

The rear pan gasket on that engine is about a 1/4 square gasket after a few years they dry out and get hard and shrank causing them to leak that is usually what cause them to leak engine oil out of the weep hole. I have probably replaced at least 500 of them through the years,

Thanks for the input Big Dean. So i assume unless it is leaking enough oil to require adding often that it is not something that has to be fixed until it gets worse. Since I cann't imagine this is a simple job I am hoping so anyway.
