Finished my winter projects early, thought you guys might like to see the results of the 255.

Basically new tires, new waterpump, new paint, added a block heater and ROPS, and fixed about a dozen small annoyances.

Follow link at the bottom.

Looks good! You did a nice job, the 255 is a good tractor, I have one with a loader and run mine everyday (feeding round bales, cleaning manure etc.) It starts good when its very cold and doesn"t mind hard work.

You are so right, that old 255 will start when absolutely none of my other Diesels will. I have never had to use ether on it. Just added a block heater to make sure but I doubt it will ever really be needed.

I really have only used it for mowing-7ft chopper. But I fixed it up because I plan to plant with it this spring. I hope it will handle a 6-row no-till planter on some slightly rolling ground, it has new tires so I think it should.

Nice tractor. Makes me wish I had not sold my 231.
