Does anyone know the differences between the engines of the MF 1130 and the oliver 1850 perkins 354"s? Would the engine out of a 1130 bolt up to an oliver 1850,and are the overhaul kits the same. I know the 1130 has a turbo, so does that mean it has harder pistons and rings than the engines of the 1850. I am wanting to put a turbo on my 1850 which now has a weak engine, and just wondering if the MF engine would work better.

Most early Perkins 354s will interchange with other early 354s. I've done it a couple of times. Adapter plate, crank pully and oil pan are the biggies. Sometimes fuel system might hafta be swapped or moved around. Perkins are like Cummins they are built to fit in just about anything.

To add more on the 1850.Helped my brother inlaw put a 354T out of a 750 into his 105 White had to switch quite a few parts around .I think just certain 354 will work like the dot3 is newer might not work, someone knows more than I do about these.

What series perkins engines are in the 1850's. I have heard of the dot 3's and dot 4's. Are these engines interchangable in the 1850?
