ok my mf35 deluxe multi-power finally started gushing out fluid even in multi-low. dont have the extra cash to have the shop do it so i am thinking of doing it myself.

so tell me guys is it that hard to repair? looks ok from some of the articles i have read. but you all know how that can be.

dont get me wrong. i know how to do almost anything on a car, but i have never split a tractor or done anything major on one.

thanks for the help!!

thanks for the info guys. sounds like a pain in the butt! maybe i will just have it done. i just hate the price they are giving me. 1200.00 to 2000.00

i only paid 3000.00 for the tractor 4 years ago. but other than that the tractor has run great. just wonder if i should cut and run or spend the cash to have it last????? years????

thanks again for the input!!

Hi I have rebuilt 3 multipower units in my shop in the last 6 months I had no problem getting parts. Two of them I had to replace the PTO input shaft and the front retainer it runs in because they had grooves worn in them from the steel sealing rings causing them to blow out the seals. I done the last one about a month ago.

Find out whether the part you are likely to need are available before you split it. A lot of multipower stuff is no longer available in spite of MF's commitment to 10+ machines. I was going to do a 575 recently but could not get any parts.

Can't comment on the specifics of the multipower, but in genral. Get 3 real MF manuals before you start: Operator Manual, Repair Manual, and Parts Manual. You will need all of them. Don't pinch pennies on the manuals. Good luck. Tom
