I have a 1962 MF-35 diesel, the transmission is stuck in reverse. I cannot move the shifter from this position. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks Jeff

I have never heard anyone else suggest this, however it works on mine. Pull up on the shifter and move it to the location it's stuck in then let it back down. I don't know but it work on mine every time. Let me know if it works for you, might be on to something here.

Some times you can manipulate the shift rail throught the fill plug opening next to the shift lever. Put the Hi-Lo lever in neutral to relive any pressure on the gears and use a long rod or screwdriver to move the gears.

This used to happen frequently on a 1958/9 MF 35
four cylinder version I used at the time.its down to worn selectors but can be relieved by inserting log rod or screwdriver through oil filler hole by gearstick
