Seems like I'm always looking for a fix for my old 165 Diesel, and I hate to keep cluttering up the forms with questions that have already been answered. What other models are close enough to the 165's that the fix's would be the same. Even better would be to know what other tractors most of the parts cross reference to also. Thanks

Keep in mind that lots of people read your questions about your tractor and may learn from it. So don"t feel at all badly about asking stuff here.

BTW - Where in Illinois are you? I"m in Carlinville - About an hour south of Springfield

Nice to see someone from the area on the boards.

I've dealt with guys from Bob Lamb for many years. I'm sure you're familiar with them if you're from Greenfield. The one called the "Old Grouch" (Gary) is the one I know the best.

Do you ever come down to Carlinville for any of our tractor shows?

Also looking for somebody that works on these tractors. Want to have it rebuilt sometime here in the future and not looking for it to be another one of my half finished projects, if you know anybody.

The 65 is identical in many aspects. Unfortunately, the 65-165 is the base of the commercial grade tractors. The 35-150 family share many parts and procedures, but the 65-165, while similar, are different.

I visit this & other forums daily for my 165 & 8N. If you've got any questions or ideas on these tractors then your not cluttering at all. Your questions may even help somebody else, like me.

I think any question that could help you out is worth asking.

Jeff
