MF35 - oil pressure

My MF35 four cylinder diesel has done 40 hours since the engine was rebuilt and runs and starts really well.
My question is about the oil pressure. I am using Burson Farmoil 15W40 and the oil pressure runs at the top end of the normal band when first started then over 45 minutes or so drops to the bottom end of the normal band.
Is that normal?
Cheers.
John.

My Perkins diesel does that to a certain extent. After a prolonged session of running at pto speeds the pressure drops to between the middle and lower third of the green on the gauge. After that if I drop to an idle below 600 it will sit right on the red line.

It could be the way those gauges were calibrated.

With over 9700 hours on my Perkins Gas MF135 the oil pressure allways still stays high 3/4 gauge even at a high idle and warm. It amases me how well the engine does for the amount of hours on it. Gauge works great cause if the oil gets low it will drop and let you know. It holds it till the engine stops turning when shutting it off. Comes up also if it does not start right away just cranking it over. Mark H.
