The tachometer on my MF85 is hooked up to an output on the Generator. Is there a easy way to get a take off for your tack when you replace the generator with an alternator? What is the Relation (ratio) between belt speed and proper tack readings? Hope someones been through this Thanks....Peter

Some of the 100 series Masseys had a alternator with the tack drive. I can't remember which ones for sure but I think the late 135 & 150 with the Continental engine had one.I think case also had them not sure though. You should be able to find one in a bone yard.

I'll be watching with keen interest since I did the same thing and now have a dead tach. I could replace it with an electronic tach but it wouldn't look anything like the original.
