I have a 1976 British built Massey 135 that I was considering importing to Canada and I was wondering what differences there were to the N. American versions other than lights, fenders, and the front axle. Would there be any difficulty getting parts (the majority of them anyway)? Also are front end loaders for these tractors hard to find? Many thanks, SAm in NS

Hi Neighbour -

Great tractor eh?

Bring it home!

We have one of each - UK and US, and aside from the unusual sound and prolonged driver training required on the UK unit (just found the reason from the posts below - it's the accent and RH drive!!!! - they are great units.

If you have power steering, the two systems are different. Both ours are diesel, and the internals are identical - the gas engines may be different.

Have you tried Tim Taylor in Truro? He's a good head, and may have a lead on a loader.

I may be able to help on other parts sources - drop me a line at [email protected]

Well, I have the accent and my Farmall is right hand drive so I guess that makes me qualified. I will drop you line shortly. SAm in NS

What "unusual sound" are you referring to?

It's that peculiar resonance in the exhaust..... Sounds like rawther broad "a"'s....don't you know....

And right now, I'm in Edmonton, enjoying your phenomenal stretch of mild temps...

Hi, SAm I have a 1965 MF 135 UK .Perkins 3Cyl. diesel, i have found mechanical parts to be readily available from the dealer. The only difference i have found is the electrical system and wiring. For example mine has the CAV starter motor with seperate solonoid under the dash. Good used loaders are hard to find.

JJ.

OK everyone
I live under Australia in Tasmania, so I have often wondered why Massey Ferguson put a top on the tool box, is it to stop the wrenches falling up, Hi.
Cheers Arthur from Tassy
