MF 202 industrial serial numbers

I have found a MF 202 that I am thinking of buying, but the serial number is earlier than the range of numbers for the earliest I have found listed of 1958 301172, the numbers is 300368 does anyone know if there were earlier prototype releases like late 1957 or why this is not in the normal range?

Ron just ran into the same situation this weekend. My serial number is JGF300262 on MHF 202.
Did you get any responses? I need help also.

Ron - you might wish to call Del Gentner at (972) 932-1317. He worked for Ferguson/MF for 42 years as a factory rep. He has a lot of technical data in his possession and should be able to provide an answer for you. Good luck!
