Recently got a 165 that has a divertor valve on top of the hydraulic manifold for the dual spool outlets. When I put a pressure guage on the outlets, I get a reading of 1,500 lbs. of pressure this seems low to me or it it about right? Also what is the lift capacity of the three point? It will pick my son and me standing on it, but when I tried to pickup half a round bale (about 800 lbs)it wouldn't lift the bale. How do I go about testing the pressure on the three point. Also how would I adjust the pressure. I appreciate any and all advise and offer Thanks in advance.

Your rear lift should pick up a round bale w/ no problem. Seems like the belly pump safety valve is set to 2800psi.

Remove the right side cover & shine a flashlight inside w/ the lift engaged, engine running. DO NOT FOR ANY REASON PUT YOUR HANDS INSIDE W/ THE ENGINE RUNNING. Do the same thing w/ a few hundred lbs on the lift.

With the flashlight look for oil squirting from the inside front(standpipe or o-ring leak), oil squirting down from above(lift cylinder/piston leak), or a swirl in the oil below(faulty safety valve).

Just had a last minute thought. If you have a diverter valve on your top cover, make sure it fully disengaged. As I recall the diverter valve shuts down the oil pressure to the lift cylinder. If it's leaking into your aux. system, your lift pressure would be down.

Maybe Big Dean(the expert)will chime in w/ some other thoughts.

Jeff

I can pick up 1,500-1,800 lb bales with my 3 point on the rear of my MF135 using heavy forks with no problem. You hydraulic pressure seems low to me. I thought it should be around 2500+ lbs off the pump. Mark H.
