From what I have read on this site the hardest part of a restoration is removing the back wheels. If the brakes/seals are shot, you will have to come up with a wrench big enough to remove the hubs. The archives might have some information on this. Personally, I like 30's. I used a 1951 to run a planer and haul firewood back in the seventies and this fall I found a 1947 which had been rebuilt about seven years ago. Someone added lights and an alternator, as well as a larger radiator. The engine and brakes are very strong. 30's are easy to start and uncomplicated to get on and off, though now that I have added a pto implement that shaft in the middle of my climbing-on route makes me nervous. Parts seem quite available. Market value on the tractor in its current condition was $1650 CDN. The 30 does a first-rate job at hauling trailers, pulling out brush and occasionally pulling farm implements. It's quite weather-proof, a bonus in an odd-jobs tractor.
