Hi anyone out there have any success with
operating a front end loader on one of these
tractors using the integral hydraulics.
I only get a slow, lazy loader with no breakout
power and finally had to resort to a separate system run of the front of the tractor.
Comments or suggestions??? Help!!!

Hi,
If you are using the tractor's internal (Ferguson) pump without a divertor valve ander the seat or cab floor you will probably have a lazy operation. You either need to hold the lift arms just below max lift or fit a divertor valve. The latter is the best option as you will then get full flow to the loader and still be able to use the lift arms.

thanks for the reply, can you expand on how and
where to locat a divertor valve, I would like to try out your suggestion but need a little direction on this. Hydraulics are not my strong point.
thanks

Hi Doug,
First of all, do you have a cab with a floor or a bare transmission casing? Whichever you have the following applies. As you sit on the seat, immediately under the front right hand corner you will see a valve bolted to the front corner of the hydraulic cover. If you do not have a valve you will have a plate attached by two 7/16unc screws. (will be under the floor of the cab if fitted) Quite possibly you will have a pipe going rearwards from the valve for a trailer tipping connection. Normally oil from the pump travels into the cylinder to lift the linkage. With this valve you can divert this supply to operate an external service such as a loader or trailer. You can plug your loader supply pipe into your rear 'Quick Release coupling' and move the quadrant levers to Constant Pumping. To do this you must of course have a control block for the loader (two or three lever depending on what you want to do). In addition to this you will need a return line from the loader block back to the transmission. The easiest place for this is at the transmission oil filler point next to the gearlevers (subject to cab floor etc). The return line MUST be of larger bore than the supply. Hope this helps for the moment until you can give me a clearer picture of what you have fitted to your tractor. Happy New Year
