Hi,

Did Massey build a 3 cyl Perkins diesel MF130 in the early '60's?
If so, did they use the AD3-152 or a smaller Perkins motor?
What differences between this and the 135?

The MF130 was built in France from 1965-72 with a 30hp Perkins 4.107 diesel engine. It"s an up rated and restyled MF-25 tractor It was produced until 1972 and was replaced with the MF-230 in 1976. I do not think it was one of MF"s big success stories, for one thing, it had very feeble brakes.Apparently parts were (and are) not easy to find.

Thanks guys,

I just saw a picture of the tractor. Said it was a 130 with a 3 cyl diesel. Kind of looked like a 135 but no way to make sure. So it sounds like if it is a 3 cyl diesel, it has to be a 135?

Hello,
I would totally agree with what Roy has said. The 130 could be another make as there was virtually nothing that was interchangable. I have heard that due to engine breather problems it was not uncommon for the oil to thicken to the point that conrods have been known to make an escape for freedom through the side of the block.
Although offered as part of the 100 series line-up in the UK it was totally overshadowed by the 135 in terms of power and performance and purchasers even then seemed to have a preference to buy British.
Happy New Year
