A friend is looking at an old MH for sale. The owner says that it is a 44, but there are no markings at all except for a hood ornament that says Massey Harris. It is a 4 cylinder gas, tires are 12x38 rear and 16s on the wide front. It has a high/low transmission with 5 speeds+ reverse in each range. Live independent PTO. Tach, plus full gauges. Looks like a factory 3pt with the cylinder and actuator mounted under some sheetmetal beneath the seat. There is a hand clutch as well as a foot clutch. Aux hydraulics look factory - the reservoir is in front of the radiator. The 12 volt electrics look original. I have some JPG pictures I could send if that would help. The tractor works ok, but leaks fluid from every seam. Nice old tractor, but what is it?? Thanks..

Sounds like a row crop 444, but with those rear tires, it could be a 333. Should tell you on serial number plate, which is on the side of the frame tub beside and below the bell housing. I wish I had one like that, my favourite Massey. 444's would stay with a John Deere 730. The green boys may freak, but I was the guy driving the 730 who didn't believe what he was seeing
