hi i have a 1987 MF 3090 autotronic with the 32 speed A-B range gearbox it will not go into the B range any ideas what the fault is or how to fix it ?

I'm assuming that A-B is the one engaged electronically by pulling the gearstick towards you, I haven't been on one for a while. Check the plugs on the ECU under the cab RHS, pull them off, spray a bit of WD40 or similar and refit. If that doesn't work check the main feed wire using a 55 watt headlamp bulb. If that doesn't work post again as I have a checklist for this fault. There is a resistor and a pressure switch to check from memory, but I'd have to check.

hi thomas thanks for your reply, think i have misled u a bit that pull across range change is working ok but its the one selected by the other gear lever with a H pattern won't select the lever won't slot in to the B range in the H pattern gate any ideas?
