I don"t really know whether the AD3 and A3 blocks are that different.

The main difference with blocks is the early blocks used a cord rear main seal while the latest blocks use a lip seal so the block/crank/sump is different. Direct or precombustion chamber motors could be either.

The industrial motors use a different crank, harmonic balancer and timing case allowing the full horse power of the motor to be taken off the front of the motor.

The later AD3-152 motors use different pistons, head and injectors which are placed at a different angle to get 48hp rather than 43hp.

Check the Bareco site and other suppliers to check what goes with what. I"ve been rebuilding a burnt MF135 and have acquired an industrial AD3-152 and an old Lincoln welder fitted with a A3-152 along the way.

I have a good MF135 3 cyl AG3 152 1967 Perkins block you could have for $200.00 plus shipping. The gas and Diesle bare blocks are suposed to be the same I am told or heard. They are a heavy bugger to lift even with all the parts off it. Not sure if it could go by UPS probley weighs over 150 lbs? It has the main bearing caps, no crank or liners, bare block only everything removed and un bolted from it to make it lighter. Email me if your interested. Mark H.

Sorry it is a 1969 not a 1967 Perkins. Here is a picture of the engine it is from. I just decided to part it out after I cleaned it up and found a problem with the end on the crank that the front pulley goes on so the crank was bad. Mark H.

Hi,
The block on its own would not fit as the cylinder heads and gaskets are different to start. Not sure about a complete engine.
