I recently bought a 1961 MF35 w/ Perkins 3 cyl. diesel. Today I noticed an oil leak coming from a cover of some sort on the engine. Looks like an simple fix, but I'll obviously need a gasket. I need help figuring out what the name of the part/gasket is so I can locate one. The cover is approx. 3"-4" tall and sort of diamond shaped, but with rounded corners. Is is located on the right side of the engine near the front, right behind the alternator. It looks to have 2 bolts holding it down. If anyone knows where I can download a blow up parts list it would help greatly in the future.

it"s for the power steering pump. just take it off and use silicone to seal it.

I'm not sure what this piece does either. Could you take it off and just cut one out of gasket material?

I thought of that actually, but I was trying to save myself some trouble. Looks like however your suggestion may be the only option. I also thought of the create-a-gasket paste stuff.

C.T. Thanks for the email, but the one you sent is for a 4 cyl. I got the Perkins 3 cyl. Diesel. I took a picture you can see it above. If anyone knows what the part name/number would be for the gasket drop a note.

Oops, you are so right, went too far into the manual. I will send you the correct ones.

C.T. Thanks for the reply. I downloaded the manual, and it hasn't been as much help as I hoped. It doesn't have the names or part numbers, just the diagrams. And every picture seems to show the wrong side of the engine. Best way to describe it is the starter points directly at it towards the front of the tractor. On the manual I downloaded it attaches to the backside of the timing gear cover shown on page 19. Kind of like the small diagram in the lower right corner, but that doesn't look exactly right either. If you'd email what you got it would be greatly appreciated. When my wife gets back with my digital camera I'll take a picture if we haven't figured it out.

"A parts manual can be downloaded for free from www.annatefka.com The site is in Dutch. You click on "Techniek" on the left and then on "Onderdelen boeken". " This was posted by "t" on a previous discussion. It has a MF35 listed. If it does not help here, it may in the future.

I have a parts manual and when I go out, I will try to identify it on my 35.

That might be the power steering pump hole cover and the gasket is MF part number 1 751 847 M1. I will scan the page from my manual and email it to you if you will email me. Of course, the suggestion to download the manual is the best idea. C. T.

We need Big Dean to come in. My manual doesn't show that side of the engine. I can see it on my Perkins, but don't know what it is. C. T.
