Typa "A" turned into Dexron/Mercon III transmission fluid. Many people use hydrauluic oil now in other tractors that call for it, like Olivers that used it in the Hydra-Power (2 sp.)and Hydraul Shift (3 sp.) units. I run Dex/Merc in my Olivers, but hydraulic oil will have no ill effects.

FA(Ford) is type A amd John Deere Low Viscosity Hy Gard is essentially the same without the red dye in it.
