My MF 65 engine speed is very hard to regulate. Is there a simple test for the governor? Since its located on the engine crankshaft it looks like a pain to get to it. I'd like to verify the governor is the problem before I take things apart. Thanks, EEA

Thanks for the help. I tried the friction disks, they were worn but replacement didn't solve the problem. I'll check the manual for proper carb adjustment next.

Are you sure that its the governor and not the friction disks that hold the throttle? The throttle shaft is keyed where it goes through a set of friction disks. On my 65 gas, the keyed part of the shaft had worn off, so it wouldn't hold where you set it. Its inside the dash panel, under the steering wheel.

Hi

You did'nt mention if it is a gas or diesel

Check.....
If gas carburator adjustment power needle
or fuel supply

Diesel Fuel primary pump or fuel supply
filters and .....

First time I heard governor problem on these models

But it may be defective

Good luck
