For a MF 135 gasoline Perkins, does a guy use the "Hy-Trans" type fluid in the differential/hydraulic system? If not, what is recommended? And how about the tranny, is it part of the rear end/hydraulics or is it separate? And if separate, what is recommended? Any information on capacities is also appreciated. Thank you for the information.

My 165 manual(should be same lube as 135)says "Use oil, specification M-1129...this is the only type of oil recommended for use in this system". Any quality universal type trans/hydro oil with the 1129 spec should work.

I use premium hydraulic fluid in my 135 Perkins gas. I get mine at Costco, but NAPA has it also, about $25 for 5 gallons. I think a full change takes 8 gallons. It is the same fluid for transmission, differential, and hydraulic. The only filter is a screen. You access it through the left inspection plate - the one with the pto shift lever. Unscrew the screen, clean and blow it out, and put it back in. Where I live the temperature goes from -20 to +105. This fluid works in all temps.
