Hey, my boss just buy a Massey-Harris tractor. We are unable to fin the serial. the only serial that we find is : on top of the transmission close to the shifter-7407A. One we find is on the side of the transmission housing (Clutch pedal side)-62044. And the last one we find is under the tractor and it a production date 44-10-6. We made research and find nothing.

A four cylinder flathead could be a MH 101 or 102 Junior, or maybe a 81,82,20 or 22 from that series. Then later, maybe a MH 30. Or the series that included the Colt, Pacer, Mustang, etc. Does it have a cast iron front tub or a channel iron front frame? Does it have (or did it once have) hinged sidepanels? These things would help. Scrape for the serial number as Dave has suggested, sometimes those numbers aren't stamped in too deep there on the upper machined surface of the tranny/differential case.

Give us some hints, like who made the engine, is it a 4 cylinder, 6cyl, row crop, big tractor, little??? Most of the ser. numbers are stamped on the trans case under the seat, by your left foot. You may need to do some scraping of paint. Most serial numbers are six digits along with prefix letters. The 62xxx don't correspond with any ser. numbers in the Data Book.
